Engineering Update #4 – Finals, Grades, and Summer

So once again, it has been quite a while since my last update, but here we go.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been studying for my finals since this was one of my most important semesters. Since I will now be entering my senior year, I will be starting my senior design project(SDP). To start the SDP, passing ECE3200 Microelectronics and ECE3301 Microcontrollers are the required prerequisites. Passing these classes became extra important, because If I failed even one of them, it would have delayed my graduation by a full year. Because of this, I knew I had to study extra hard for both of these classes, and that’s exactly what I did.

Thankfully, the effort paid off. I ended the semester with a B in Microcontrollers and a B- in Microelectronics. It was a huge relief to see those grades come in and to know I’m cleared to begin my SDP in the fall.

I’m still waiting on a few more grades to be posted, but I’m not too worried about those, since they were less intense classes that required less preparation.

Although the semester is finally over, summer won’t exactly be a break. For starters, I’m enrolled in three asynchronous summer classes: two general education courses and one ECE class. On top of that, I’m starting a Free Space Optics internship in early June. I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity and plan to work as hard as possible. I hope to make a real contribution while also gaining hands-on experience in a photonics and optics-related field.

This summer is definitely my most packed, but I’m super excited to see how it goes!

 Until next time!
